Alfresco Dining

With the promise of some scorching weather (yay!!) I thought I would seek some inspiration for Alfresco dining. Before kids I used to love gathering family and friends for an evening BBQ and would love planning how it would look- colour schemes and lighting etc. I haven’t done this for quite a while but feel that maybe this is the year I find my ‘alfresco dining mojo’! So with that in mind here are some inspirational and stylish ideas.

Lighting is important, especially if your get-together is going to stretch from day into evening. You can’t beat tea lights and candles. I love pretty Chinese lanterns hanging from trees and for real drama how about a statement candelabra.

For a classic look opt for traditional china, they don’t have to match. Or if it’s for a picnic then go for some colourful melamine.

Make life easier by putting bundles of cutlery into containers so people can help themselves- plus it keeps things informal.

Finally, fresh flowers always provide an extra special finishing touch.
