BEST DRESSED WITH LYST

As I write this, I’m sitting in a summer dress with the sun shining and its a gorgeous September day. But soon the Autumn chill will set in and get us all wanting to buy new season items. Every season I pull a wish list together and use the online shopping destination Lyst. It’s a bit like having your own style fairy godmother- with thousands of items listed from high street to high end. From Topshop to Temperley you will find something for your style and budget. Plus the more you shop, the websites algorithm adjusts to know your shopping style, recommending items you’ll love. Slightly dangerous for the old bank balance but fun!

Buying a new dress is a great way to get Autumn ready- wear it on its own now and once the temperature dips start the layering process. Here is my edit of some of the key dress trends with Lyst.

Velvet

This is one of those fabrics you either love or hate! You can always ditch the goth edge by trying it in different colours other than black as seen at Valentino.

The Floral Maxi

Etro AW16

Etro

You can’t get through this season without a floral maxi dress and this is the second winter that florals have been big catwalk hitters. They inject some much needed colour and pattern into our plain winter wardrobes. In the day pair with a biker jacket and boots and in the evening a velvet jacket.

Fairytale

Alberta Ferretti AW16

Alberta Ferretti AW16

The AW16 catwalks were awash with a mix of fantasy and fairytale drawing inspiration from Snow White and The Huntsman and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Granted the enchanting embroideries and fine gossamer are more suited to an after dark look or a winter special occasion, rather than the daytime.
